Winter put out one last ditch effort last month, but now spring is officially here. The ornamental pear trees (?!) are in full bloom, birds are chirping, and we're averaging a balmy 70 degrees F. It's definitely...different having spring come in February when I'm used to spring in May or June. Not that I'm complaining...
Other than the freaky weather, there's not much else to update. Jon is still unavailable for comment. I'm still tired despite my best efforts to go to bed at 10p.m. (laughable, at best). Will still terrorizes the house. I thought he was a smart kid, but his determination seems to override his smarts. He wants to get into the kitchen drawers 'real bad,' and he's already pinched his fingers a multitude of times. Yet, he just keeps coming back for more. Glutton for punishment. He can now get onto his feet, but he can't straighten up yet, so it doesn't count as standing. He delights in cramming his fingers up his nose, the more food-covered the better. I'll be right back because I'm pretty sure I just heard the DVD player open.
Yes. About 5 seconds ago, Will learned how to open the DVD tray. Fantastic.
My little sisters are coming to visit on Saturday. It will be fun for everyone. At least it will be fun once Jessica has her boards done. She's taking them in Dallas next Wednesday. Good luck!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I got called to be the first councillor in the Primary Presidency. It's been fun so far, but the strangest thing I've noticed is that this ward never sings any of the Primary songs I learned growing up, even though they're all still in the song book. I haven't known the words to any of the songs except the birthday songs. Even then, they're learning a new birthday song I've never heard of. I've always thought that songs like "Nephi's Courage" and that hinges song were staples in the Primary repertoire. I still shudder to even think the words to "Nephi's Courage," so I'm kind of glad it fell out of favor.
Until next month,
Stephanie B.
