Blogger Backgrounds

12/10/10

Ok, it's only been a month, not six, but maybe we'll shoot for monthly updates instead of semi-annual. Still no pictures. I am a lackadaisical blogger at best. If you want pictures, look on facebook. I'm too lazy to figure out how to get pictures off my smart phone onto the laptop and then spend forever uploading and formatting them on blogger. One stroke of a touch screen uploads pics directly to facebook. I did the math! :)

Biggest news of the week: my sister Jessica's engaged! She got engaged yesterday to a guy named Dan Earle. I've only met him once, but he seemed really nice. He works for the RCMP, and he currently holds the national sharpshooting record in Canada, even though he's only 22 (I think). He got into the RCMP when he was 19 which is impossible, so he's apparently pretty good. They haven't set any details yet, but I'll let you know when they do. Luckily for us, they're not thinking of getting married until May or June. That's post-busy season for you non-accountants. Jon might actually be able to come. I'm getting rather fond of flying across the country with an infant (not), but I'd rather have him come.

I'm rambling, in case no one noticed, and here's why: Will. He's still got teething pain which means he's not sleeping. He also refuses to drink anything. Juice and water get rejected without even a second glance. Try to force him and he howls the house down while gnashing around with those devilish sharp teeth. Combine lack of fluids with increase of solids and we have a whole new set of problems to deal with. I'm not getting much sleep.

On a positive note, Will's grown to 27 inches, putting him in the 50th percentile for height. He did not gain an ounce (literally) in the last six weeks, so he dropped into the 10th percentile in weight. He currently weighs in at 16 lbs, 8 oz.

I'm working on a quiet book. It's coming very slowly (not my fault). Jon's working and stressed out because he has three audits still open right now, so he has homework every night (several hours of it) which is cutting into his CPA study time. The office Christmas party was a blast. I used to think accountants were boring. :) I laughed really hard at the 2 second pause after every comment I made while the other person processed through the alcohol.

Jon also got called to be the assistant ward mission leader. He's excited. He gets to teach gospel principles and that's right up his alley. Bishop told me they can't figure out where to put me. He actually asked me where I wanted to be put. I think he would have put me there, too, if I had actually suggested something. It's weird to go from holding 5 or 6 callings at once, to holding none. I feel slightly out of the loop.
