I have decided that single motherhood is not for me. I can probably wait for busy season to be over, but it's going to be a long wait. I'm staying busy sewing my quiet book (it's cute!), and cleaning up after that mini tornado I spawned. I'm also growing a few garden plants and herbs which are currently residing in my living room due to all the frost, ice, and snow. I've been really perplexed because my allergies have been acting up lately. Can you believe it took me almost two weeks to realize that I'm slightly allergic to my mini garden! Outside they go as soon as it's warm enough.
Will, as previously mentioned, is a mini tornado, an earthquake, and a tsunami all rolled into one, then crammed into 27 inches of mayhem. His little antics are so funny. Some of his new tricks include rocking back and forth in his high chair until the real chair starts tipping (heart attack!), sitting in front of closed doors and banging the back of his head on them, pulling all the rubber ends off the door stop sproingers and eating them, and climbing up on everything in sight, including the edges of the tub. He loves to climb up to the spout or talk to himself in that round silver thing set into the edge of the tub. He still doesn't splash, but he crawls around and around and around and loves every second of bath time. He also takes delight in finding every tiny little thing that I leave on the floor and eating it. I've fished door sproingers, pretzels, cardboard, string, pieces of dryer sheets, bits of rubber, and several unidentifiable somethings out of his mouth. He hates it when I steal his prizes. I can always tell when he's got something in his mouth because he crawls up with a huge grin and his jaw chomping like crazy. I think 9 months is going to be my favorite age. He can crawl and be a little independent, but he still needs me around. He's decided that hugs from mom are pretty great, so whenever I pick him up he lays his head on my shoulder and cuddles for a bit. He's also starting to get really interested in books. His favorite book is "Five Little Ladybugs" (seen below). The ladybugs are plastic, so each page has interesting ladybugs on one side and holes on the other. We read this book two or three times per day. When he wants to read it, he grabs it, gives a little cry, and then looks up to see if I'm coming. If not, the cries escalate until I do come.

Gee, can you tell that Will is always around and Jon is never around? Will has a book and Jon has a couple of lines. lol. I post pictures on facebook fairly regularly. Go there for pics. Again, it's much too complicated to get them off my phone and upload them. And yesterday I nearly had a heart attack because I downloaded my videos and deleted them from my phone and when I went to play them, none of them worked. After a mini panic attack, I realized that I was getting audio but not visual. A little research taught me that apparently smart phones record videos in high def which is typically stored in MPEG4 format to save space. Only iTunes has the capacity to play MPEG4 format. Most programs can only play one or the other, audio or visual. We are now the proud owners of a free iTunes download and a host of cute Will videos!
In other news, one of my best friends, Melody, had a baby! It's a boy named David Grant McBride (her husband is the brother of Jon's old roommate, Nate) and he weighed 9 lbs. Yay!

Awwwww, Steph! You mentioned me in your blog! I feel so special! :) *hugs*
I keep seeing the pictures you post on Facebook of Will, and man, he is getting big! And more cute! But with parents like his, who can blame him?
I TOTALLY relate to the wreck left behind by Will. There's no end to the mess in the house, and it's only going to get worse once this new little one figures out how to move around! Ahhh!
Thanks for the latest blog. We really like getting them and learning about your life in Texas and Will's latest adventures.
